Abstract :
Today, as supply chains become more complex and difficult, trust and communication between supply chain partners, the protection of intellectual property, and the establishment and maintenance of visibility, perspective and control over communications have become increasingly important. This study develops a research model that links blockchain adoption in the supply chain to supply chain competitive performance through Supply chain innovation (process and relational innovation). This study is applied research in objective and it is descriptive - survey in nature. The statistical population of the study was start-ups based in Tehran province. The sample size was calculated using G-Power software version 3.1 250 people. 300 questionnaires were distributed using simple random sampling method with online survey and 259 questionnaires were collected. The study used partial least squares modelling and Smart PLS version 3 software to test the proposed model. All hypotheses were confirmed at 99% confidence interval. The results support the research model and confirm that competitive performance is directly improved through blockchain adoption and also indirectly through blockchain-enabled process and relational innovation. Research findings advance practice and theory by contributing to the emerging literature on blockchain and enriching our understanding of the performance impacts of blockchain adoption and use in the supply chain.
