Abstract :
Objective: The aim of the current research is Investigating social harms and providing solutions to eliminate them with a social innovation approach. As a serious threat to the society’s well-being, social harms have been focus of attention from long ago. Excessive growth of population, unfair distribution and development of cities, modernization, changing patterns of interrelations between individuals and between generations, etc. are some of the different factors which lead to appearance of social harms. In many cases, the existing solutions are not enough to remove these harms, and innovative solutions based on the capacity and capabilities of the society namely social innovations are required. Methodology: In this study, which is descriptive-survey type, it has been tried to identify the most important social harms of the new city of Pardis and present approaches to resolve them with the social innovative attitudes. For this purpose, by referring to the research population which was 57 elites and experts of urban pathology in the city of Pardis, the data was collected through questionnaire by the use of SPSS software. Conclusion: The findings show that robbery, unemployment, addiction, non-organization of immigration and divorce are the most important social harms in the new city of Pardis. Also the most important approaches to resolve them are creating associations to support appropriate jobs and incomes, development based on capacities and capabilities by creating entertainment infrastructures, creating entrepreneurship networks, offering the required facilities for employment, providing the required foundations for empowerment of girls and women, and elevating production of agricultural and handicraft products by focusing on small agriculture-based associations. Originality: The most important social harms were identified and effective solutions to address them were determined using a social innovation approach. While strengthening the foundations and knowledge of the scientific and managerial community, it also helps in selecting appropriate and innovative approaches, policies, planning, and activities to better utilize local capacities to reduce and address social harms.
